The Hudson River is Beczak's backyard, and during River Adventures children will explore its waters and wildlife by boat and by land.
Experienced paddlers from the Yonkers Paddling and Rowing Club teach children the basics of kayaking, culminating in a river exploration of the nearby mouth of the Saw Mill River. Adventures continue with hiking the historic trails of the Palisades Park directly across the Hudson River, and salt water fishing with Island Current Charters.
River Adventures also includes programs with naturalists, wilderness survival skills, and more. This confidence-building week fosters children's natural curiosity and helps them discover the relationship between scientific concepts and observations of the natural world.
